ExoStudios is a modern, fully equipped London recording studio based in Hackney and close to Shoreditch and Old Street. We have, since our opening, worked with many musicians and businesses across a range of styles and genres.

PHILOSOPHY:

Our philosophy is that music must sound good to be fully appreciated and that even the best music won’t reach its full potential unless recorded, mixed and mastered to a high standard. With the emergence of digital technology in music more and more musicians are taking the DIY approach and recording themselves at home. Whilst some have the budget to afford high quality equipment and facilities others do not and must settle with low grade consumer lines to capture their performances. Their recordings suffer as a result, and the hard work and talent they invest is lost on the listener.

WHERE WE COME IN:

ExoStudios bridges the gap by offering high quality recording at low prices to musicians and businesses that lack a huge budget. We stock high end equipment and instruments with experienced staff who know exactly how to capture the performance and sound you’re aiming for, but won’t charge unrealistic amounts for it.

CONVENIENCE:

Our location makes us easily accessible to most in London.. We’re based in the well known ‘Premises Recording Studios’ complex where successful musicians have been recording and rehearsing for years.

ABOUT THE ENGINEER:

Tristan Warren is a 29 year old Musician/Engineer/Producer from both the UK and the US. Having lived in London for over 13 years he’s fully aware of what this vibrant city has to offer artistically and can anticipate musical trends and the direction they will take. He’s an experienced guitarist, having bought his first at only 13 years old and has played in many bands over the years, regularly gigging with some and simply experimenting with others. He has since picked up bass guitar, electric keyboards and synthesisers, and experiments with programming. His knowledge of recording technology began in London Guildhall University in 2001 where he completed an HND in musical instrument technology, and later going on to complete a BA(hons) degree in Audio Visual Communications. His knowledge of engineering and producing has come in part from formal education, but mostly from the school of experience. He’s accumulated over the years since ExoStudios opened and before thousands of hours of recording and producing experience. The knowledge obtained this way is invaluable and can’t be taught in schools.

RECORDING - Whether it’s just a solo vocalist or a full band, we have the facilities and equipment to accommodate most recording projects big and small.

MIXING - In Pro Tools HD2 or Logic Pro with high end analogue outboard and top of the line software.

MASTERING - Giving tracks the shine and presence needed to sound good on modern hi-fi systems and MP3 players..

MUSIC PRODUCTION - We have a wealth of musical knowledge and experience, with music we’ve produced and written played on radio, network television and gigged extensively. We’re prepared to co-produce with songwriters and develop ideas, or write original music from scratch for singers. We have knowledge with most genres.
